Product Highlights: How Omise Upgraded the Way You Accept Payments in 2025

December 19, 2025

2025 was a whirlwind of excitement, experiments, and innovation. We began the year by unveiling our refreshed branding, followed by the premiere of our Omise AI Suite in April, and capped everything off with the launch of Omise MCP, our biggest milestone yet.

As always, we want you to make the most of every product and feature we build. So here are the key updates from 2025 you won’t want to miss.

Smarter Authentication with Mastercard Passkey

Checkout friction has long been the silent deal-breaker. A mistyped OTP, a forgotten password, or just a moment of hesitation can cause customers to drop off.

So this year, Omise made a major leap in making authentication even more seamless by becoming the first payment gateway in Thailand to integrate Mastercard Passkey. This enables customers to authenticate using biometrics already available on their devices: Face ID, fingerprint, or native screen locks. This upgrade significantly reduces friction at checkout, lowers cart abandonment rates, and delivers a more intuitive payment experience.

Payment Links+ Just Leveled Up

Payment Links+ now offers greater flexibility for merchants. With Dynamic Return URL, businesses can land customers on tailored post-checkout destinations, be it thank-you pages, onboarding flows, or promotional campaigns. Another opportunity for businesses to engage with customers.

Behind the scenes, Dynamic Webhooks let merchants automate workflows by routing payment events to the right internal system instantly. Meanwhile, manual capture statuses can now display a “Pending” status when payments are authorized but not yet captured. This improves clarity for customers and eliminates the “Did my payment go through?” questions for good. (Also ideal for deposit-based flows such as hotels or retail.)

On the experience side, Payment Links+ now supports white-label installment plans, allowing customers to complete installment details without being redirected to a bank site. Plus, Google Pay is now available. More checkout options to boost conversion!

Build on Flutter, Accept Payment with Omise

Developers building on Flutter finally gained a native way to integrate Omise. Securely integrate Omise.js directly into your app environment and skip direct API submissions to keep sensitive data secure. (Read documentation.)

Subscriptions Made Simpler

Subscriptions became more inclusive this year with the introduction of Online Direct Debit (ODD). Customers can now pay recurring charges straight from their bank accounts, eliminating the need for cards and widening access to subscription services.

Merchants also gained better organizational control through custom metadata. They can tag subscription charges with campaign details, product tiers, or internal identifiers, making tracking and reporting far more efficient.

A Better Experience for PayFacs

Marketplaces and multi-brand networks need more flexibility as they scale, and Omise is here to support it. This year, payment facilitators gained new levels of control with enhanced sub-merchant management tools. PayFacs can now onboard, view, and manage merchants across multiple layers, including creating sub-merchants nested under other sub-merchants.

Strengthening Fraud Prevention for Marketplaces

This year, we worked with regulators to launch Blackwatch Service, an enhanced verification layer that checks recipient information against Anti-Money Laundering Office data. This helps block mule accounts, adding crucial protection for marketplace ecosystems.

We also rolled out PromptPay QR safeguards, including QR expiry settings and void API integration. These features reduce the risk of reused or forwarded QR scams and ensure that refunds from suspicious transactions can be returned directly to the rightful payer.

Omise MCP: A New Era Begins

Our biggest launch of 2025 was Omise MCP, introduced in November. With over 60 payment tools available, Omise MCP allows merchants to power their AI agents so they can automate, optimize, and orchestrate the entire payment lifecycle. (Learn more about Omise MCP here)

The year’s end is neither an ending nor a beginning, but a continuation. We’ve made tremendous strides this year, and in the years ahead, we’ll keep building payment solutions that are smarter, more seamless, and truly borderless.

Let’s keep going in 2026 and beyond.
