Why is Omise acquiring Paysbuy now?
Paysbuy has been providing payment services in Thailand for more than a decade. Through the years it has developed recognizable payment expertise, delivering a broad range of payment solutions to a long standing and reputable client base. This acquisition is a step closer to building an enhanced infrastructure to lay the standards of payment services for the e-commerce ecosystem and build a stronger base here in Thailand which is inline with Omise’s objective, “Online Payment for Everyone”.
Also, this paves the way for Omise’s future payment innovations such as the development of the OmiseGO (OMG) network, to make it accessible to the majority of the public. It is crucial that we make easy to integrate and has offer many ways to make and accept payments.
What is the benefit of the merger?
This merger will allow an opportunity for merchants to tap into products and services offered by both companies to provide holistic solutions to their customers.
While research also shows that in the next 7 years (by 2025), more and more card users are shifting to mobile payment, where 40% of the online transactions is expected to come through e-wallet services. This further helps Omise’s future strategy of using OmiseGO’s network to allow the exchange of value between wallets.
What is the name of the combined companies?
As Paysbuy’s payment services will be transformed into Omise, businesses will continue its operations under the name of Omise.
